78 Year old reader part 2

My Daddy sent another message.  He’s not allowed a school blog because he hasn’t got a log in. This is what he has e mailed me…

I think a good school blog should:

Not use ‘text-message’ English.

Avoid long words that not everyone will understand.

Put your thoughts in short sentences.

Not involve too many thoughts in any one blog – you can always send another one.

Not upset other people.

Be happy rather than sad.

Happy Blogging!

  1. Iyla says:

    What is text message English?

    • Mr West says:

Text message English is when you write using shorten words or numbers rather than the full, correct spelling. For instance: C U tmrw instead of see you tomorrow. It’s often used for text messages, but it also pops up in emails and blogs. It can be good for saving time if you’re writing on a phone, but lots of people (particulary ones who tend to have been born a long time ago) find it tricky to understand and also a bit annoying.

That’s is correct but it is fine to write long words.
